Purbanchal University (PU) came into existence by the Purbanchal University Act of 1994 and has been envisaged as a centre of academic excellence with a mandate to manage teaching/learning and research institution offering courses in the various streams. With the aim to produce human resources that helps to alleviate the existing agriculture problems of the society and to support the nation by supplying academically sound and technically proven human resources in agricultural sector, G. P. Koirala College of Agriculture and Research Centre (GPCAR) has been established as central unit/institute of teaching/learning and research activities at Purbanchal University(PU).
